Even if you’re not a freelance designer, I’m pretty sure good typography knocks your socks off. There’s something about beautifully composed and laid-out letters that seem so perfect. Here are two places to indulge your typography fetish.
Smashing Magazine. More specifically, the popular design blog’s font section. Of particular pleasure is the periodic compilations of free fonts that crop up from time to time.
Typechart. With a focus on typography for the web, this website features fonts that work on practically any browser, on any computer. A great place to see how to use sizes and font effects to full effect. On top of that, it’s also easy to grab the CSS behind the font for your own web design projects.
