A Quick and Easy Gift Idea that Promotes Your Freelance Career

by Rico on November 6th, 2007

The holidays are weeks away, but there’s no harm in preparing right now. I was thinking that, whoever came up with this picture:

…could’ve have slapped it on a bunch of t-shirts, then handed it out to friends and family for Christmas. At least before posting it online.

It’s a funny image, and will no doubt get people to ask “where’d you get that?” Your recipients will then happily mention the creator. Why do this for the coming holiday season? You can even place your name or website on the back (just make it small) to make sure people will know where the cool t-shirt came from.

It doesn’t even have to be a graphic. If you’re a photographer, it could be a great visual composition (though you are limited by the printing quality on t-shirts). If you’re a writer, it could be some pithy yet witty statement. T-shirts are relatively cheap, and so is printing on them. And who said all the t-shirts in batch have to be the same? With a little money, you could be handing out useful gifts to the important ones in your life—while letting more people know about you and what you can offer.
