Do Freelancers Have to be Mysterious?
A friend recently shared the portfolio site he made for his freelance model friend. Some items in this model’s gallery are not safe for work, and I found myself asking if freelancers lose something if they present everything they have to offer.
Another friend found the model’s willing exposure questionable, not because of any moral standards, He said that by publishing nude pictures of herself, the model had “nothing left to hide.” In other words, there was no more mystery left in her presentation.
I can see where this other friend is coming from. The model posted photos showing a little nudity, trying to show her versatility. But I think that some potential clients would immediately dismiss her as a freelancer interested only in nude or sexy shoots, and not even consider her for their potentially lucrative projects.
This assumption could be the prude in me talking, but I can imagine a freelance photographer who fails to attract any client interest when he posts all of his photos, instead of showcasing only images that would be most effective in generating inquiries. What do you think, dear readers?

I think your friend should leave more to the imagination and not give away too much before it’s asked for. Yeah!
