Do You Know What Your Bank Lets You Do?

Oh wow, I can actually check my bank account’s balance online!

No, I’m not a caveman discovering fire for the first time (ok, maybe I am). It’s just that I need to pay attention more often.

The fact is that freelancers should be aware of their bank lets them do. They offerIn my case, I should’ve listened when the helpful teller told me that my bank has an online account manamgement system, and that my ATM doubles as a debit card. This happened many many years ago.

I spent many years scrambling for the nearest ATM to check my balance and withdraw money, when many shops accept my ATM card as payment (debit) and that I could log on to the bank website to check my funds. Do’h!

Everyone knows that it’s good to stay on top of your finances. But do you know how your bank can make your life easier? Use whatever services available to your advantage, and you’ll waste less time. You’ll have more of that to get things done, build your freelance career, or simply enjoy some time off.

At the very least, you won’t feel as stupid as I do now. Imagine, all that wasted time!

Yup. I have been using the ATM/Debit card for quite long. I just do not have a credit card - because I never felt a need for it. And the online banking can be quite nifty. It is way easier to transfer funds from one account to another - usually with my friends and contacts.
