Does Positive Music Lead to Productivity?
Summary: While I can’t get work done while listening to music, I’ve found that preparing with positive-sounding tunes does wonders for productivity.
I’ve recently come across fubiz.net, a French site that mercifully makes its acclaimed Fubiz Broadcast collection easily accessible for English surfers. An FB is basically a group of electronica songs compiled into one seamless mix, and new installments are made available for download on a regular basis.
I call your attention to Fubiz Broadcast #29, because it contains at least two uplifting songs (the first two). The tones of these particular songs are optimistic, and somehow I find myself smiling like an idiot as I listen to them.
As I cut the music, still grinning, I find that heavy workload easier to finish. For some reason, FB #29 puts me into a cheerful mindset that makes work an absolute pleasure.
Do you have any particular song that gets you into a productive mood? It could be something as heart-pumping as Eye of the Tiger, or a traditionalist staple like classical music; what is it? :)

I grew up in a really loud family and now I live in the city. As a result, I actually find quiet distracting now - I know that’s odd.
When I am in the mood to get anything done - from housework to writing articles to doing tax returns - I put my iTunes on. My favorite “inspirational” songs to work by? Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”; Irene Cara’s “Fame” and the Dixie Chicks’ “Wide Open Spaces.”

By the loudness, I’m assuming you grew up in a large family? You also seem to be the “Eye of the Tiger”-type person. :)
