How to Make Those Errands Count
The great thing about making Tuesday the first workday of the week is that Monday becomes time to do all those errands. Banks and public offices are usually open on this day, so it’s a simple matter of doing your business in the morning to avoid the noontime and afternoon crowds.
Unfortunately, as I learned the hard way today, you can waste a lot of time if you don’t plan your trip properly. Case in point: spending 3 hours in a government office just to get a small piece of paper, and another 2 just to renew a passport. All that lost time could’ve been saved if I was briefed beforehand on the required processes. I did tick off everything on my to-do list, but it took me the entire day. Not really a great way to spend a day off, especially when the added time was unnecessary.
If I just picked up the phone and called in, I would’ve known everything beforehand. I would’ve gotten things done sooner, I would’ve gotten home earlier, and I would’ve had more time to experiment/read/bum around. My experience is just another example of how poor planning can come back to haunt us. So learn from my mistake, fellow freelancers!

I totally believe that. With gas prices being the way they are more and more people are making the most of the time they have.
