Making Sure You Have Connectivity
For freelancers who work online, connectivity is as good as gold. Clearly, the Internet is a crucial source of information you need to get the job done. But you need to be a bit assertive to maximize this tool and make sure you always have online access.
Noemi, a mom who works at home, relies on her broadband connection to manage her business. She’s taken relatively extraordinary measures, making sure that she has (two?) redundancies in place. And she’s demanding:
Rico, I really think you should keep calling them up and demand reliable service at least 90% of the time. If no one complains, there won’t be action done. So yes be more forceful, then do a followup on your complaint.
I don’t think she’s being unreasonable, given that she’s paying good money for a fast connection. Why pay for something if you can’t use it?
Granted, no provider can provide 100% uptime. But, as my friend points out, nothing will get done if nobody knows that there’s a problem.

yes they rely on users for feedback. And we’re helping them in the process. Besides we pay on time. we expect at least 99.9% connectivity. A few times downtime for maintenance.
