My Own “I Have Nothing to Write About!” Post
As the writer of this blog, I try to come up with one post a day. Unfortunately, I really could think of nothing to write, especially since I’ve been spending the last few days enjoying the holidays.
So now I find myself tempted to be cliché and write about having nothing to write. And you know what? I gave in.
I’ve realized that creativity is like inertia. As long as you push yourself to come up with ideas and solutions to the problems presented by your projects, those light bulbs will come to you easily.
On the other hand, once you “shut down” your brain and don’t make full use of it (like for a vacation or government-mandated holiday), it can be hard to return to the creative flow. It takes a lot of effort to mentally “boot up” and bring your idea factory back online.
That’s why I had to resort to writing about having no ideas, which is definitely nothing new. But at least I know my lesson: as I keep my brain active and never let it become sedate, I’ll have an easier time coming up with ideas. This regular mental exercise should apply even when you have no work to do.

I can’t imagine how a prolific writer like you would ever experience writer’s block! :o
