CW: How do you keep track of such rate trends?
CSJ: I ask fellow designers
CW: You guys are that open with each other?
CSJ: Yup! Most of us help each other out, mutually we’ve understood that the every-designer-for-himself mantra does nothing good for the industry. Setting a standard design rate, whether per project or per hour of work, has been a yearly discussion on forums such as PhilWeavers—another design community I’m active in.
