The Perils of Plagiarism

Recent readings have inspired me to compile a short list on plagiarism. Click through the links below to find out more of this lazy and ironically self-defeating activity.

- Copyscape
For me, plagiarism is simply copying someone else’s work, without trying to understand how to mimic their creation. Meaning if someone stole the theme specifications for this blog, tweaked it a bit and started claiming the results as his own theme (without crediting the author of the original), that’s plagiarism. The correct route would be to try and figure out how this theme was constructed, and do it yourself from scratch. At the very least, your abilities will grow as you learn new things.
What do you think?
