Contract Worker - Freelancing Experiences

What Gets You Through the Tough Times

by Rico on January 30th, 2007

There will be times when it seems no one wants any projects done, and your cash on hand is running low. Times when you’re forced to spend your savings on bare necessities, instead of using them to create money-making assets.
You can minimize the impact of these lean times by building a network of old reliables. Or clients who:

  1. Who like your work
  2. Need stuff done all the time

Some of them may be relative misers. But the constant work they give will help make your cashflow more stable. You’ll be able to plan your finances better.
Of course, such an asset takes a little building up. First you have to find a client who likes to outsource work. Next, you have to convince him of your professionalism and the quality of your work.

In other words, this courtship needs constant submission of projects on time and to spec.
