What Works for One Field May Not for Another

Welcome to another edition of Monday Madness. Monday Media Madness that is!

Have you watched the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix? Personally, it’s the best of the series yet. But at least one person thinks the movie sucks, because it doesn’t faithfully follow the book.

But he doesn’t get it. There’s no way you can include all the intricacies of a novel into its movie version. Only a miniseries can cover all the material of a book as long as The Order of the Phoenix. So, to compress everything into a two-hour movie, it’s necessary to drop some elements.

In other words, whatever works for one medium doesn’t necessarily work for another. Or whatever applies in one field might not for a different one.

So, great advice for a freelance writer may not be so for a freelance web designer. While aesthetics are totally important for the web designer, a writer should concentrate more on the content.

Just a little tidbit to consider as you begin your work week. Have a great one dear readers!
