Why Wearing Your Body Out Lets You Do More
Recently, I’ve been playing basketball and badminton twice a week. Even though my body aches the next day (oh, my legs!), I’ve never felt so energized in my life!
The human body was designed for physical activity. Sitting in front of the computer all day simply isn’t natural. Still, it’s a bit ironic that, as I’ve exercised a lot over the last few weeks, pushing my body to its limits, I’m left with more energy reserves. There’s more pep in my step, and an increased willingness to focus on a task until it’s totally done.
In other words, my productivity as a freelancer and corporate worker has improved. I’ve been getting more things done with the same amount of time and rest. More proof that exercise and sweating it out is not only healthy for your body, but for your career as well. So, put off that gym appointment and pick-up game at your own risk. Just remember to stretch and minimize injuries!
