Why You Should Never Throw Away Your Ideas

I came across the famous Apple 1984 Macintosh ad, and ended up on this interesting article, which basically relates how the idea was originally conceived for an Apple II corporate ad, filed away, and “dusted off” in 1983.
Even non Apple addicts agree that the 1984 ad was one of the best ever created. And it came from an old idea. Definitive proof that you should never throw away old ideas.
It’s easy to store your old ideas. You can make full use of your Inventory 2.0, or maintain an old notebook for such a purpose. This story also has a less obvious lesson. No matter how silly or irrelevant an idea is, we should save it, because we never know when such an idea proves to be the catalyst for something great.
Do you save your old ideas, instead of simply throwing them away? It can be hard to remember what you came up with years, months, or even minutes ago, if no record of it exists. There are so many ways we can make sure none of our creativity is wasted.
So how you store your old ideas for posterity or future utility?
